Yes! Unfortunately they are mainly used for sport, but if this did not happen, they would not survive in the wild, because they nest in grass, and the modern tractors are so fast and wide, they do not stand a chance. There are also Chinese Pheasants which are very colourful, looking like a parrot. Maybe your Pheasants look like these?
