How many freights a day on this line?

depends on the day, but I estimate around 50 a day (within 24 hours). Additionally there are 4 passenger trains per hour.

this is one of the most-frequented railroad line in Germany resp.Europe. But most lines have freight traffic.

Sometimes. But european trains are much shorter than amerian trains, so they only need one engine.

Often, but not always. The really long trains use the SA3 coupling or the European version of it, they can be substantially longer, the maximum trailing capacity is more than doubled. Especially ore and coal trains can have several engines and possible pushers at the end.
