The original are interpreted by the composer Shoukichi Kina (喜納昌吉),
but another known interpreter is the also okinawan Rimi Natsukawa (夏川りみ)
The lyrics of the chorus in Japanese go like this:

"Nakinasai, warainasai
Itsu no hi ka, itsu no hi ka,
Hana wo sakasoo yoo"

A rough translation is:
"Cry when you need to cry, laugh when you need to laugh,One day, yes one day,
the flower will come to full bloom."

  • superb I love this song!who sings the original ?

    and what does it say?

  • For Luxaacure:

Please see a new description added.

(Taken off) By Olivier Urbain, Mr. Kina has also established an NGO "Bukki wo Gakki he" which means "Let us turn all Weapons into Musical Instruments".

  • One of the most spectacular achievements of this organization is a ceremony held in July 2002 during which the ambassador of India to Japan offered him a broken down machine gun on behalf of Mr. Fernandez, the minister of defense. In exchange, Mr. Kina offered him a sanshin, a traditional string instrument from Okinawa.
