  • Remove the nylon gear from the jshaft. Get some Duco glue, fix the crack. When putting the gear back on the shaft, heat the shaft up with a solder gun than slid the gear back on. Heating the shaft will reform the gear to the shaft and the crack shouldn't happen again for a long time. I've done that with gears that are on motor shafts.

  • @hydrolisk1792 all the gear ran was 2 elves swinging hammers so I just deleted it the this is such a P O S for a thing that casts $275.00 had a hell of a time getting it back in the figure

  • @force311999 LOL, I can't believe that it causted that much, that thing does look pretty cheeply made, like a holiday decoration. . .

  • @hydrolisk1792 you can Google them I think the porcelain parts are hand painted and made but the insides are cheap probably why they stopped making them

  • Nice fix it's cool that you were able to get this thing running again minus the teeter totter. I've seen that happen in toys and thing's I've taken apart. those nylon gears they are under stress and I guess temp. fluctuations cause it to crack and split then it's no good. I will be modding mine when the tape wears out. I'll probably record a song from my computer onto a tape and put it in this thing. any ideas on splicing tape?

  • @coondogtheman1234 wears out? how much do you run it It would drive me nuts hope it brakes soon LOL

  • hahaha youtube's emailer is way slow. I literally just got an email about this vid and i've already seen it.

  • I bet you could get a new nylon gear or a plastic one at either sciplus.com or maybe (just maybe) digi-key or mouser. It's right up all their alleys. I would give a crack at making my dremel type tool into some sort of table grinder and make a new one from maybe an aluminum piece of shaft. Just me. Neat fix.

I don't even run mine that much. I have it in one of those sterilite rolling storage drawer things and I only take it out occasionally. any ideas on how to tap the amp and run a line level audio signal thru it? I'd like to play my ipod thru it for hahas.

  • @coondogtheman1234 I* would be curios how much tape would fit in this and still work ok

mine is back in the figure at dads

  • @force311999

OK. if the original tape fades too badly I'll just replace it with a different music track. or do what I said in my other comment. or I could just use it to play back Cassette tape found on the road you ever see a discarded tape blowing in the wind. I've salvaged those before and I saved an ABBA tape that I found melted on the road. just the case was deformed the tape was fine so I just put the reels in a different case.
