CHAPTER 24
*Back at her house, Brynn is still asleep (because, after all, it's only eleven thirty in the morning!), and having a strange dream. She was on a moon bounce, her leg completely healed, and jumping with a person whose face was obscured. They were having a blast, giggling and pushing each other as they tried to stay on their feet while they jumped. But she jumped too high, and the protective net around the moon bounce suddenly disappeared. She was falling, and the oncoming contact with the ground looked painful! She braced herself for the hard hit... that never came. Instead, someone's strong arms caught her as they collapsed onto a grassy meadow. She looked up to see her hero's face, and saw Joe Jonas smiling back at her. At that moment, Brynn's dog, Shadow, jumps onto her bed and wakes her up. Grumbling, Brynn sits up and rubs her eyes, wishing she could have stayed asleep for just another minute. That dream is impossible, but Brynn wants it to continue so she can have another chance to gaze at Joe Jonas in person. But as she turns to get out of bed, she sees a note and a bouquet of daisies on her dresser, and realization hits her. Personally knowing Joe Jonas isn't just a dream! She scrambles out of bed, grabs her crutches, and limps over to the present left for her.*
*Picking up the daisies, Brynn smells them, smiles, and picks up the note. She unfolds it and reads it to herself:*
Hi gorgeous.
Good morning! I would say this to you in person, but I promised my parents that I would meet them at the airport this afternoon, because they are coming to visit us in NJ for a few days. I honestly have no idea where Kevin and Nick are today...but I already told everyone that I would go to the terminal. Their plane gets in at 12:30, so we should be home around 1:30. I will call you the second everyone is settled in. If you are feeling well enough, I would like to bring you here to meet everyone! I haven't had the chance to tell my parents about you yet, but I'm sure they will be thrilled. After all, you are perfect, what's not to like? :) So please be careful while I'm gone. Watch the stairs on your crutches, and if you need anything at all, just call me. I miss you already! See you soon beautiful.

*Brynn grins widely and hobbles downstairs, thinking about how perfect Joe is. By 1:20 that day, she is dressed and ready to meet the Jonas'. She took a shower, blew out her hair and straightened it, and put on just a little bit of blush to compliment her pale skin. She located her favorite white, pink, and brown Roxy dress and paired it with brown flats. (AN: DRESS CAN BE SEEN IN THE VIDEO! Please ignore model.) However, she is only able to get on one shoe because of her large cast. Sighing, she takes one last look in the mirror and runs downstairs to get her phone to call Joe. However, just as she reaches it, it lights up. Joe is calling her! Brynn excitedly picks up.*
BRYNN: Hey babe!
JOE: Hi Brynn! Guess what?
BRYNN: What?
JOE: I miss you.
BRYNN: *Giggling.* I just saw you last night.
JOE: Mmm...too long ago. Did you get my note?
BRYNN: Yes I did, I loved it. And the flowers are beautiful, thank you so much.
JOE: No problem. So if you read the note, you know that my parents are here. I'm actually in the car now but we are going to be back at the house in about ten minutes, if you want to stop by.
BRYNN: I'd love to. I cant wait to meet everyone.
JOE: And they cant wait to meet you.
BRYNN: You told them?
JOE: Not exactly...okay so maybe I haven't...but they will want to meet you when I finally get the chance to tell them about you, which should hopefully be soon. So ten minutes?
BRYNN: Fifteen?
JOE: Perfect. Okay see you soon Brynnnnnnn!!
BRYNN: Bye Joe!
*When they hang up, Brynn calls up the stairs and asks her dad to drive her to a friend's house. He agrees and helps her into the car with her crutches. Brynn gives him "her friend's address, and they pull out of the driveway. In the car...*
MR. LESCE: So whose house is this?
BRYNN: Um...my friend Joe.
MR. LESCE: Have I met this boy?
BRYNN: No, mom did once, though.
*Brynn was hoping that her father wouldn't poke into her business and try to find out more about her relationship with Joe. However, she didn't have to worry... Mr. Lesce was a driven, hardworking man who had little thought in his mind other than his work, and didn't ask any more questions about Joe.*
MR. LESCE: Okay, well make sure you are home at a reasonable time.
BRYNN: Fine with me.
*Brynn turns on the radio, and "When You Look Me in the Eyes" is playing on her favorite station. She turns it up and opens the windows as they drive in the summer heat. They reach the Jonas' driveway as the song ends, and Brynn thanks her dad and hobbles out of the car. He pulls away as she makes her way, with her crutches, up the front steps and to the doorbell.
