The Beijing games is being praised for having efficient organisation, but that gives little comfort to people around the world who have fallen victim to ticketing scams.
Many paid thousands of dollars, usually via websites, for tickets that were fake or that simply did not exist.
Olympics bosses are now under pressure to do more to stop the scammers, as Al Jazeera's Tony Birtley reports.
all those people got reimbursed by the credit card companies...even those who spent $1000s ...

Remember that you're dealing with a country (China) that turns a blind eye to copyright violations such as copying software, watches, bootleg CDs, etc., because it brings in money to the country. The locals know this, but foreigners do not. Buyer beware.

"If it looks to good to be true, it is"
They weren't "special" deals. The scam was based on copying the original web site so it looked 100% official. They paid Google to get themselves #1 ranking on searches for (beijing olympic tickets). The website was actually named beijingolympictickets. com
A private eye has been tracking the guy behind it for years, and he says he notified authorities quite some time back, but they didn't act. Apparently it's a Brit with a long history of ticket scams

so what you are implying is that all whites are honest, not necesarily true because whites as well as other races are dishonest considering the fact that no human being is perfect.you should not justify an entire race of people based on the actions of a few.on final note the Nigerian scam is called 419 not 14 get your facts straight

1.17 The reporter clings on to the group of people without asking their acceptance. It's like he assumes that they don't see the reporter, like they are some kind of a blind and predictable herd of people, who just move in one direction in the street and can't be affected, who don't have any interests. I think it's a frighting and totalitarian doctrine.

Ok, but it's not a question of skin color, but local culture.

Non-Whites are very dishonest. And they look for Whites, who are naturally trusting(because other Whites are trustworthy). Think of the Nigerian 14 scam that targets Americans and British people. Non-Whites, like myself, hardly ever fall for it. White people would serve themselves better by being very cautious of non-Whites, including Chinese people.
