It is a five minute walk from Notre Dame. You will feel like you have walked into the middle of a precious gem.. like a diamond or ruby, or both. And to think it is many many centuries old. I speak French fairly well, and it makes things much easier.. if even just an effort is made. I hope your dream is realized. All I can say is that I had the same feelings you have. I went to Paris with VERY high expeditions. They were for once in my life, way way too low. It is an immortal place. Salut!

applesgergiu, I felt I had to say something to encourage you and give you a bit of possibly helpful advice. Notre Dame is an incredible place. It will take your breath away. HOWEVER, you are on the Isle de la Cite which also contains the Palais de Justice and le Conciergerie (Marie Atoinette was held before her execution). In the Palais de Justice complex you will find one of the greatest works of the human race: Sainte Chapelle. Do not miss it. Just look it up for photos. It is amazing.
