My failed attempt at learning to back it in, low speed, inability to accelerate effectively, too much braking, too little leaning, dirt tires instead of supermoto tires

  • I've done two 'practice' vids on the same thing.

I can really only get it right when:

    - going at about 50+kph in 3rd or 4th gear

    - picking a point at which to initiate the slide

    - once at that point, doing the following in quick succession: 1. clutch in, 2. short shift down 2 gears (to 1st or 2nd), 3. let the clutch out SMOOTHLY

At the moment, I still haven't practiced around corners, nor have I started using the front brake which helps lighten the rear, so can't comment on that ;)

    Ride safe!

  • Dont use the brake, what you are doing is called a skid! Like motardjunkie said, its all engine braking. try it in a straight line. accelerate to 3rd or 4th then with no brakes just shift down twice. then apply it to a corner. P.S you may need a bit more speed.

  • How come theres no how-to video for back-it-in for supermoto??

  • How come theres no how-to video for back-it-in for supermoto??

  • yama rider pro has the right idea except i wouldnt use any rear break at all cause think about it if your doing a right hand slide and your foot is on the break then how are you gonna stick your foot out to stabalize your self like the pros do but before you try this agin get yourself some real boots otherwise your gonna break your damn ankle your gear is lacking be safe

  • @MotardJunkie

ok, and u wana downshift basicly as soon as u get into the turn right ??? and let the back tire start sliding and then give it throttle

  • @MotardJunkie

isnt droping it from 3rd at 7k rpm to 1st bad for the bike ??
