University of Minnesota researcher Jon Grant may have uncovered how to treat people who suffer from an addiction to shoplifting. By medicating people who suffer from kleptomania, their desire to steal was drastically reduced and in some cases, they had no desire at all.

  • Side effects: Depression

  • this is theft addiction as stated by nebulag34, im doing a systematic review of journals on kleptomania and people who are affected do not get a rush of excitement or do they feel rewarded after the theft. They experience high levels of anxiety before the theft and almost always have a feeling of shame after this has been done, which sends them into states of depression. Furthermore, the majority of the items that are stolen are disregarded and never used.

  • this is theft addiction not kleptomania

  • The medication the psychiatrist is referring to is "naltraxone" in case anyone wondered.
