Transmission removal vids & pics

hawwwwwwwww man i get to do dis. i need 2 get at them freeze plugs at the back of the block,, any special tips/ tricks i should know b4 i jump in to this? ive got an extra cab 2 so takeing off the bed might be a lil pointless huh?

@ShootDaShaka Yeah, bed removal is not necessary, but you will need special tools & you will have to pull the motor & lower the transmission, driveshaft, exhaust, starter, etc. I would recommend getting a Chiltons, or Haynes manual. This can be a difficult job.

hi do you have to un bolt the converter also to take that the tranny or can you take the tranny down and leave the converter

Hey this is a great vid! I've watched it many times cause I'm dropping a tran. for the first time. Can u tell me please how u balanced and lowered the tranny on ur jack? I dont want to have to buy a tranny jack for a one time job. Thanks in advance.

@photographermatt you should always tape your u joint caps together so they don't fall off and loose all those needle bearings....

matt i have a 95 4wd tahoe ,460tranny is blown,do i have to take out the motor or can i just drop the tranny like you did?
