I would like to say that this movie,is something unique,something that is without dobut the best.The plot is amaizing thanks to Leo Tolstoy,and the charatcters are genious,especialy Napoleon and Andrei Bolkonsky(which has become my favourite movie character).Simply the best...

Should two people get different answers for the same equation, they will compare their answers against the equation to find out which is right, rather than trying to determine a relationship between the answers. So why are people comparing this to Bondarchuk's movie? This version, very vividly mirrors the novel, with great differences in character portrayal, events and most themes. It worries me that some may, upon watching this, choose not to read the book and lose out on the full experience.

Seems to be an interesting interpretation. I'm going to watch it, but still I expect that it won't be as great as was Russian movie of 1968. This is too British. Only Russians can make this movie as it should be, show the Russian soul.
