Most German cars have a "brake override" system that prevents the brake and gas pedals from being depressed at the same time. BMW's Tom Plucinsky demonstrates how it works with journalist Jim Motavalli in a 3-Series at BMW's New Jersey headquarters.

He is trying to show that IF the gas pedal was stuck, you could override the throttle by simply using the brake pedal, and since its not stuck, he must hold both pedals

@kilgoja this cuts throttle when you press on the gas if you're moving with speed. On a toyota avalon, the braking distance is 4 times what it is when WOT is applied the same times as full brakes.

Don't talk about other people's driving skills, they obviously understand more than you do.

If i'm correct, this still allows you to press the brake and gas to spin out the rear wheels? I haven't tried it on my 335i, nor do i plan on.

Also, if you're going to try this at home, wait till the temp needle starts moving. I bet this car has <1200 miles and isn't even done with its break in.
