This video demonstrates that the BX-24 can control more than servo-driven robots, such as Robodyssey's Mouse. Here, a crawler is powered by two DC motors. With Robodyssey's H-Bridge controller and the BX-24 microcontroller we are able to control two DC motors AND two servo motors. This robot is equipped with two Sharp IR range finders that are used to avoid obstacles and table edges.

Most mobile toys and remote controlled cars are powered by DC motors, so imagine the possibilities of programming them to run autonomously. Essentially, you can turn just about any mobile toy into your own autonomous robot!

Robodyssey Systems manufactures the H-Bridge motherboard and sells the crawler you see here. The robot's brain is NetMedia's BX-24 microcontroller, which is programmed using the BasicX language. I am the author of the world's only BasicX textbook; if you are interested in learning how to program your own robot, see my website at www.basicxandrobotics.com.
