Beale Street Blues is a tune composed in 1916 by the famous W.C. Handy. The Cotton get their inspiration for this tune from the wonderful Kid Ory Band.
The Cotton City Jazz Band is founded in 1962. Since then the Cotton City has a long history in playing New Orleans Jazz. The legend trumpeter 'Jacques Cruyt' who has become world wide recognition for his trumpetstyle, was in the original formation. The Cotton City has done many recordings with original jazzmen like, Louis Nelson, Kid Thomas, Percy Humphrey, Don Ewell, Alton Purnell, Emanuel Sayles and Freddie Kohlman. Nowadays the legacy goes on and the Cotton City is still going strong playin' the New Orleans Jazz and get their inspiration by the great Jazzplayers. Kid Ory is one of them and the Cotton plays many tunes from the great Kid Ory Band from the years 40 and 50.
During this tour the famous and regular trombonist from the Cotton City Romain Vandriessche was hospitalized
It was great to play with this band. The Cotton played marvelous stuff in Megève and had a lot of succes..

I really love your music!! Please post more. I have a 13 year old that plays trumpet and his 9 year old brother plays sax and trombone. Check out JTATR on You tube and you will find them in 'comin home baby'
