I own two pairs of legendary Apogee Scintilla speakers (1 ohm versions). This is the first pair "the original one" with Krell KRS 100 monoblocks. The other pair is in bad condition by now but being brought back to life. There you can also see one Dynamic Precision amp - capable to drive Scintillas pretty well. Today I use Krells + DP biamped. There is also a home theater system but that´s another story.

  • OMG!!!Those are some big ass amps. How much do they weight?

  • @costellom5 They weight 145 lbs each.

  • What is the point of making such a mediocre sounding video trying to show off such expensive equipment? You have proven nothing! But you have wasted webspace.

It really sounds like crap and you should be ashamed.

  • @49kasey This equipment is not expensive - it is just a small part of the history of hifi equipment which I have kept alive instead of replacing it with some "modern" ones. If you think that some music in Youtube sounds good I propose you to go wash your ears. In case your comment is somehow related in the sound the equipment produces IRL you do not know anything about what you´re talking.

You are now the one who wastes my time. I am quite sure that you do not own the Internet or the web space.

  • @najzain: wife? why? should I have one?

  • Actually those amps are not oversized at all. If you google these speakers you will soon notice that there are about 10 amps total that can drive these properly in the whole world, most of them are Krells.

  • Are you a coke dealer or a movie star. Jesus how much did this system cost ?

  • beautiful system; I just bought a used Krell KSA 200s and a pair Of MMG's for a small room cant wait to get em going!

  • you need better music to show their quality!

  • You NEED PERSIAN RUGS, one larg on the floor, and 2 RUGS ON the WALL. .heavy one!!!!!!!!!!!,my friend,to combined all those fequency together,as ONE,

NOW YOU HAVE BEAUTIFULL SYSTEM,WITH GOOD SPEAKERS,

  • I worked at a factory in New Hampshire USA that made all the heatsinks for the Krell monoblocks.I personally must have made 500 of these heatsinks. Loving care go into all the Krell components, are are handled with white cotton gloves after machining.

  • Upgraded to a KSA 300s and now have pretty decent sound. Need to upgrade my CD player. I came across your post looking for 300s repairs to see if anyone has re-cap'd their amp. I would like to upgrade from the electrolytics to good audio grade caps.

  • That gloss black is Bee-you-tee-full! Did you have the covers painted like that? Is it laquer?

I have a set of Duetta II's upgraded to Signatures. I actually think I liked the darker sound of the II's better. I was running an Aragon MK IV amp. Not quite enough "UMPH" to control the ribbons, but sounded sweet at lower levels.

  • I Absolutely Love your Amps & Spkrs !!!

  • @49kasey The only one who should be ashamed is yourself for making such an ignorant comment. Leave the appreciation of this equipment to those of us who know what we're talking about.

  • @49kasey

you should be ashamed because this is really a part of Hi Fi history.

For the rest of us is a piece of art .

As Quad's 57/63 with their mono's tube amplifiers or Radford STA25 with LS3/5

We can not listen them but we like to watch them.

I waste 38 words for you.

    But you are not polite!
