This type of board is used in Brazil to go on the dunes. I think you can allso use a snowboard.

Painfully slow. I know there's more friction than snow or water but can somebody strap on a monster of a kite and show me that sand kiting is possible and exciting?

The sandkiteing is shurely not for Brazil, only if you want to practice your jibe from the water on the sand and back to the water.

I didnt explain enough:
1. Its possible to go upwind with the sandkite.
2. Be prepared for a armed robbery if you go in Taiba, Brazil. I showed the place where me, my parents and other 30 people where robbed. The bandits looked like the masked face you can see in the movie. They had pistols and guns, and beated the women, so that their husbands or boyfriends gave them all the money they had. They took our passports too...........
