C.Viper is one of the most versatile and challenging characters in SF4. Her ability to cancel her specials and perform high jumps generates a huge amount of interesting gameplay. This video covers a range of combos, from simple strings that require no meter, to advanced combos and ultra setups; and also features a few little tricks to help you gain the initiative.

All combos performed by JayLab (that's me) on the Xbox 360 console.

UPDATE (30/11/11):
Thanks for 50k views! Obviously this video is a little out of date now, given the multiple revisions to SF4 over the past two and a half years, but Viper hasn't really changed a great deal, so a lot of these basics are still applicable. I hope it has helped people to get to grips with the game's most interesting character.

Just to cover a frequently asked question, the way to do the repeated seismos is to jump cancel each seismo, but then input the next seismo before leaving the ground. This sounds tricky, but it's just a matter of timing, and ending each seismo input with uf+P. Practice makes perfect!

  • 1:25, you messed up the meterless. =]

  • @TheGosu In all honesty, i didn't realise the meterless FADC was possible back when I made the video. I have since seen the error of my ways though!

  • Hey man, first of all awesome viper, beautiful execution. I've been practicing with her for a while and you'll probably think im stupid for asking this but how do you do the seismic hammers so quickly at 2:15?

  • @bluedhift Don't worry, lots of people ask this. What you have to do is superjump cancel each seismo (with down, up), and then input the next seismo before you leave the ground. It's tricky, but once you get it down it's not so tough. I used to use a little shortcut to do it, but the most reliable way is just to perform the command for the next seismo at the appropriate time (f, d, df), and then finish the motion with uf+P.

  • wow bro ur amazing with c viper...i start to use her and practice her moves...just wondering how you do the motion on stick for seismic HJC to another seismic hammer i only did it a few times and i dunno how i did it...anyways awesome video jaylab

  • for the repeated seismos, I use the game's shortcut for shoryuken-type motions. Basically I just tap df, df, ub+P for each one. Timing is the tricky part.

  • Whats FADC?

I just got the game today heh

  • WIPEOUT FTW!!! =)

  • @isniffdirtypanties way to go!

  • @DivineForcesBro thanks man :-)

  • @MultiMAGICDAN You have to put the input in very fast. It's just Seismo (Electric Smash thing) then you have to flick your controller stick up down real fast then go right into Burn kick. It's just a timing thing, take time to do.

  • i dont even know how to do the electric smash thing on the floor followed by the fire kick in the air????? any tips please

  • Just a thought in retrospect, to a pretty old video, you shouldn't have used Seth to do the combos on, it gives a wrong impression about her damage.

  • At 1:25, how do you cancel your Ex seismo into a forward dash? I'm only able to cancel into a forward or backward superjump.

  • @thelifeofsimon Lol she's easy, you just suck. Learn to play and it'll be a lot easier.

  • Do you use an arcade stick?
