Filmed 08/06/2009 on a Boeing 737-800 in the Thomson fleet.

Departs: Manchester EGCC
Destina': Dalaman LTBS

Journey time: ~ 3:45

Crusing Altitude: 37,000 Feet @ 510 MPH

Sorry about the friggin zoom on the first part of the takeoff, I didn't realise it was that close.

  • how fast are you actually going when your in the air ? Because it looks like your going slow .

  • We were cruising at 510 miles per hour, which is about 443 knots (actual air speed). I think it looks a lot slower than it is because of how far off the ground we were. :)

  • @DisneyBaby08 In MPH these 737's take off between 150-170 MPH. They cruise at normally 500MPH which is 78-80% of the speed of sound around a bout 440-460 Knotts. The landing speed is around 150-130 MPH :)
