Self-described as warm and organic electronic music with forthright female vocalists, Au Revoir Simone makes music primarily using keyboards, drum machines, and hand percussion. The bands debut release, Verses of Comfort, Assurance and Salvation was named after a tiny book Annie received in the post one day while at work. The title captures perfectly the musics ability to make you feel complete, inspired and happy. The bands first full-length album, The Bird of Music was released in March 2008.
"When we started recording "Fallen Snow" for the compilation, we thought it would be fun to take it in a more playful, home-grown direction than what appears on the album. When we had to leave for our tour, we entrusted the song to Doug Marvin (Dirty on Purpose), who thought about turning the song into something Junior High School kids would make. Since we were halfway there already with our crazy experiments, we were happy to see him take it to the next level.
