The harpsichord employed is a copy of an instrument supposedly made by Johann Nikolaus Bach ofjena at the beginning of the 18th century. With its full-blooded, dark timbre it appropriately matches the Herbst organ in Lahm: it was built by Nikolaus Damm of Hirschhorn (Neckar), who also restored the original instrument and wrote an interesting investigation of it (Nikolaus Damm: Ein Cembalo von Johann Nikolaus Bach?, 1985, published by himself in Hirschhorn).
Compass of the instrument: GG - d3, three 8-foot registers and lute stop, slide coupler.
