@badmattam Hi. Thanks for your tip. It is indeed the movie I was looking for. There's hardly any information at IMDB about this film, but when I used the Italian title "l'ultimo cocciatore" I came across a "German" trailer on YouTube. This proved to be the film. Thanks again ...

@r2muddyd2 Hi there,i don't know if you ever got an answer from anyone here.To me it sounds like 'The last hunter' starring david Warbeck (1980) a European attempt at the Vietnam war. I could very well be wrong however give it a go.

@rohull i have no idea what your text language says, i don't tex't. im to old for that. i actually call the person. but as technical as i can get to answering your question is we (THE U.S.) won the war of attrition. they the (COMMUNIST) won the war of perserverance. so i guess its like 60/40 and they got the 60.

@rohull if you wanna talk numbers america and allies won. if you wanna talk whos still there . then the communist won. you can win the battle and loose the war. but think of the hurt we put on the communist. thats probably our only deterent to kim jong mentally ill. from waging war.

1966-67 I was in highschool Vienna Austria - our students were war protestors in Germany, Austria, France, Italy, Britan...... The Vietnam War was the first TV war, every evening we got terrible pics of Vietnam or Laos on TV. All young people from all over the globe were in total rebellion against war, teachers, parents, police and establishment. Jefferson Airplane, Hendrix, Grateful Dead, Quicksilver Messanger Service and so on......this sound was very popular in Europea as well. .

Got to love it! Man does this turn the "Way Back" Machine on. Those were the days, no "PC" here. Just get the job done.

Does anybody know the title of a Vietnam War movie, made somewhere between 1975 - 1985, which is mainly about a PT boat crew (No, not Apocalypse Now). There's also a kinda love affair between the US soldier and a Vietnamese girl, I don't know any actors' name, but there is a shot in which a dead parachutist drops from a tree, hanging in his chute and another shot in which a man gets cought in a bamboo-pin-swing boobytrap.

I was stationed for a year at A-414 Special Forces A-team Moc Hoa 1966-67. You'll wsee it at about 1:10 into the video. Because of the now low water level in the video we couldn't run those airboats anymore so I take this to be about Jan-Feb '67. You can see the boats in the lower left of the vid. We took those and helicopters and hoovercraft into Cambodia 11-20-66 and killed 56 Viet Coms. Once drunk I was in the central 2 story bunker w/ a m. gun ready to fire on CIDG if they hurt my 1st Lt.

Penquinbum,
I'm writing a book, part of which takes place in Vietnam. I'm trying to be as well researched as possible and would like as many different points of view as possible. Maybe we could exchange contact. Thank you.
