The GRX engine sound is based off the late 60's Nissan R-380 V12 race car. Look it up, sounds identical...

@Thinker669 the storyline goes that the grx has 3000 horsepower and can travel speeds exceding the speed of sound, and it has way too much power and it goes way to fast for even the best of racing car drivers in the world can handle. but you gotta love the corny engine sound effects lol :) im a huge Speed Racer nerd...

The "GRX" was one badass car. This is one episode I remembered in particular from my youth when this was first run.

for years i always wondered why the hell chim-chim has two voices. like at 13:18 LOL!!! i finally checked it out on wikipedia and i guess they use the both the original sounds for him and the dubbed ones together.
...it just lends to how wacky this show can be. especially with all of the random, non-stop dialog the characters have. i love it! wish people spoke like this in real life.
