Waffle Stitch crochet

A few people asked me about how to do the waffle stitch. Begin by making a chain, dbl crochet across. alternate picking up back stitch 3 times and next 3 pick up/go behind the whole dbl crochet. Sorry, I don't have a pattern. I just noticed..."Puss" is on the bed in the background cleaning herself....how cute.

You hold your yarn differently than I do, and it looks easier on the hand than how I hold it... but I can't quite see how you're tensioning the yarn... could you do a video just of wrapping the yarn around your hand, and focus on hand positions while crocheting?

I can't wrap the yarn around my hand. I've seen others do it. I have been doing it this way for 34 years.

I want to learn to knit....I was just on the train from Chicago crocheting and saw a girl knitting......I know it's harder to learn....
