Depending on rear axle load-bearing capacity, either one-leaf or two-leaf parabolic springs are standard. The axles with enhanced load-bearing capacity are used to reinforce the spring progression with an auxiliary leaf spring.
The single-stage hypoid differential operates with minimum losses, which also supports the fuel-saving concept of the vehicle. When compared to the previous series, the axles of the light tonnages in particular, have had the weight of their differentials and axle housings substantially optimised. The HUB-Unit wheel bearing unit is lubricated for its entire service life and its design makes it much easier to replace brake discs.
