@mostlyopenminded i know what you mean, but i think he felt it was more important to just make the changes in people rather than to be very empathetic.
I think you can look that up on Wikipedia. Not sure (although I can guess why you might be asking me this question) but I think it's best to just state your opinion whether you think I'm using projection or not and then back it up with your evidence or opinion (although I like evidence better than opinion but that's just my opinion).
@ronimommy projection, in psychology, is a term used to describe a Freudian defense mechanism in which one denies or represses parts of one's self and attributes those emotions to other people. Ex: A person who is extremely spiteful accuses someone/others of being vengeful.
I may be giving you the wrong info and example though because I'm just a psych. student. Best of Luck!
I felt as if he were "nudging" his patients into agreeing with what he assumed to be their feelings. I feel that he was mainly concerned with himself and whatever he was attempting to accomplish next. That is just my opinion though, I've never met the guy and I've only seen one or two small clips of him actually practicing so my point is that from my little experience that I have had studying him, he seems self-absorbed.
@ronimommy Hey I think your left-click on your mouse is broken, you posted this 9 times, but anyways to answer your question I think that after reading and learning about his background and watching him practice, he seemed to me to take advantage of his patient's emotions to benefit the longevity of his theory.
