@ThePerceptual "Radio" ain't the Blueprint structure for mainstream rap, there's too big difference between that record and todays rap music sound with the likes of Drake, Kanye West and Lil' Wayne. In that scence you might as well say that "Rapper's Delight" , or "Grandmaster Flash on the Wheels of Steel" or Afrika Bambaataa's "Planet Rock" is the blueprint structure for "Radio". Now I don't mean to say that "Radio" wasn't isn't inspirational, but I think you're giving it far too much credit
@kreep2nite Maybe not, but he can make great soulful music and technically sophisticated flows, which LL definietily can¨t match. And he can grow old in the hip hop industry and still be relevant and great, unlike LL who has totally lost the game, with 4 pretty lame records straight.
@bikefreak1212 Well I along other hip hop lovers, dig it, I think songs like "Welcome to the Jungle", "Lift Up" and "H A M" are fabolous. I understand clearly why not every hip hop fan share that opinion though.-
@janus5cl Loungin ft Terri & Monica was not a hit single...the remix ft Total was a massive hit in 95/96. i don't want to get into their whole catalogue discussion but Jigga can never make summer jams like LL Cool J. no one can deny that.
@janus5cl I had high hopes for this there album. Idk if its just me, but I would have to say it's one of the worst albums I have heard to date. I couldnt even listen to songs fully through because of how basic nd elementary the lyrics are. I thought they wouldve at least tried to make a killer album since Eminem nd Royce dropped a album as a duo. Not one song wus good in my opinion and I would play Nas, Game , Bad meets Evil, or even the Carter 4 before I put Watch the Throne in.Nd I hate wayne
@bikefreak1212 They would if Chokolable agreed with every record that got praises from critics, deserved the praises, but he don't, he just agrees with some, and disagrees with others. Just because you like a record that critics dig, doesn't mean that you haven't got an opinion of your own, And just because you like a certain new type of style inside of hip hop, doesn't mean that you're ignorant about what hip hop is".
I'm tired of these people tryin' to teach other people of what real great rap is. To me, a great part of hip hop is about creating something new, being innovative, in a professional solid way, and that is exactly what is so great and impressive about Jay-Z and Kanye West. Now if digging "Wath the Throne" is being mindless, then a lot of hip hop critics is mindless, and though critics isn't always, I must admit I trust their praises I bit more than you, bikefreak1212.
@janus5cl OK....uh...I guess you giving any praise to Watch the Throne kinda pissed me off. Early Jay Z...Like early 90's is the only Jay I'd listen to. What there making now is just garbage. I couldn't listen to one song to the very end because it sounded like they threw that shit together in a day. Now if you wanna talk about who is top notch tday then here's who you need to be looking 4. Tech N9ne, Royce da 5' 9"> He's been under rated for far too long, Hopsin, Cassidy, Game, Jadakiss, Nas
ll cool j isnt the goat he is better than jay z though
