In the olden days before Peter Gabriel got his sledgehammer and before Mike hired his Mechanics - Phil Collins had long flowing hair.
Here they are performing together in 1973 at Shepperton Studios. The original film is in 16mm so hardly High Def but boy what a performance! Great sound, very original and sounds as spooky today as it did back then.
This piece of history was owned by my friends Dad - Bill Holbrook who sadly passed away recently. I know though that he would have loved sharing this with an audience.

  • 16 yrs old and going nowhere. Music taste edited by the TV of the day. I left my mates in the city one night and went home early, the bus home was packed with students after a binge and i had to stand up (I fought gravity as long as i could) It was a relief to get off for a piss, (I actually christened the Church that christened me!!) I walked past an open front door and stopped to hear what music was on. It was this song. I was invited in after being recognised, and my new life began.

  • Genesis should have been called Geniuses! :-)

  • what the fuck

  • @ExVagant

Yeah, I think I'm man pregnant of how pissing hilarious that lawnmower joke is. Not.

This is just another piece of crap thing that idiots call art and others mindfuck. Sorry

  • @Thomaxius Idiot. Just a fucking idiot.

  • Genius! Everyone of them in their own right.

  • Just like Rehvhind says - PG is saying in the song, "Me, I'm just a lawnmower. You can tell by the way I walk" And he makes an impression of walking with a motorized lawnmower. Does it really need to be spelled out? OK, here's a hint: Look up the word "humor" on Wikipedia.

  • I didn't realize Peter Gabriel was so "F" ed!

  • Steve Hackett looks like Neil Peart.

  • Sometimes I wonder if there's something genuinely wrong with Peter Gabriel watching these old clips. He's either the best showman since PT Barnum or he's flat out insane. I love it!

  • gabriel > phil > ray.

aunque los tres son muy buenos :)
