@ti41magh41 I think negative lift hydrofoils (ones that hold the boat to the water) produce far more drag than they are worth, you want to minimise wetted area and hydrodynamic forces and by having some areas lift and some areas pull down you are just increasing the drag.
This type of design seems near-perfect for speed really, makes best use of the weight and seems low drag, at those speeds hydrofoils wouldn't react in time.

@ti41magh41 will be difficult to generate sufficient righting moment while sitting in a kayak. That is more wing than one person is going to be able to control with standing and leveraging their weight. Imagine kiteboarding on a kneeboard ...
