The rapid development of new IT in recent years has forced many companies to dramatically change the way they do business. In order to stay competitive, enterprises need to pursue new business opportunities by acquiring and utilizing cutting edge IT.

Much of today's advanced IT is an outgrowth of the entrepreneurial and small venture business culture of the US where independence, innovation and the free flow of ideas are highly valued. This culture differs greatly from that of large, more established Japanese enterprise centric economy. This difference is analyzed in this seminar along with the description of typical behaviors of entrepreneurs and large companies including venture capitals as well as Japanese governments science & technology promotion policy, based on speaker's unique experience in technology based new business opportunity development in a large company (30 years), founding/growing an IT venture company to its IPO (7 years) and helping IT entrepreneurs to establish strategy for growth of business (6 years) mostly in Japan.
