Yeah, this company is legit and they work with viable businesses. One of my buddies is working with them to get funding for a supplemental insurance gig - similar to what Aflac offers, except with a different market. They helped him with his presentation and put him in front of investors that were already interested in a deal like his so he just had to close them.

We do not charge for companies to pitch at CrowdPitch. Ask some of them yourself - they haven't paid us a dime in any shape or fashion.
We offer a variety of consulting services that include help putting together a presentation for VC's/Angels/Banks and those are generally accepted as reasonable things to charge for. But again, we true what we said - companies (including some of the current ones pitching in Denver tomorrow) do not have to pay to participate.

Brad Feld says entrepreneurs should never pay to pitch. Registered on the UF site and within minutes someone called me to charge me $99 to connect with investors/banks. Not sure about this Funding Universe deal.

These guys are awesome. I went to this event, and one of the angel investors ended up funding my deal (250k). This isn't something for fake businesses or dumb ideas though, you will get eaten alive the the investors (probably the case of the guy who posted negative info).
