Funeral Services for Seaside Heights Capt. Dave Szalkowski

On Monday June 25 2008,
Seaside Heights Police Captain
David L. Szalkowski was laid
to rest following an
11-year battle with Scleroderma.
On May 17, 2008, the
Captain had undergone
a double-lung transplant
that he had hoped might
extend his life.
However, a sudden infection
developed, and the Captain
passed away on Tuesday
June 17th at age 44.
The Captain had been
with the SHPD since 1989,
and leaves behind wife
Elayne, son Leo, 14,
and daughter Emily, 11.

I believe the situation in which you are speaking occurred in nearby Lavallette. Capt. Szalkowski was an honorable man, and died a horrific death. I leave this video up so that his wife and children can be proud of their father, and remember how he was sent off as a he should have been: a decorated police officer. It is certainly a shame that people write such vicious things without benefit of fact.
