@BagTheBan Do you have any idea of the financial undertaking it would require to recycle even half of the bags we use? A million a minute, Hilex. You can't honestly expect today's Americans to make the effort to drop off that many bags. It's an ingenious idea; but it won't work efficiently. I know you, as a company, are trying to survive and profit, but you cannot deny that it is more efficient and safe to eliminate the problem altogether.

Yet despite this, only 8% of plastic is recycled. On top of that, plastic is expensive and hard for recyclers to sort and recycle. Curbside Recyclers do not actually recycle your plastic waste, as some workers can spend up to 30% of their time picking plastic bits of of machinery, not to mention that they have no effective system for recycling plastic.
I appreciate that you do this, but it's easier to get rid of the root of the problem.
Ban the Bag, not Bag the Ban.

We couldn’t agree more that there needs to be an improvement in the plastic bag recycling process across the country. For this exact reason, Hilex Poly has created its Bag2Bag program, in which it has partnered with retailers across the country to offer more than 300,000 recycling drop off stations across the U.S. Our goal is to make it easier and more convenient to properly recycle plastic bags so that they bypass landfills and returned to the recycling stream.
