Rep. Gohmert: I Wish to God the Principal Would Have Had an M4 in Her Office Locked Up

Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX), a staunch Second Amendment supporter, told Chris Wallace today on FOX News Sunday, "And, hearing the heroic story of the principal lunging, trying to protect. Chris, I wish to God she would have had an M4 in her office locked up. so when she heard gunfire she pulls it out and she didn't have to lunge heroically with nothing in her hands, But she takes him out, takes his head off before he could kill those precious kids."

I am a school teacher in Texas . My house was broke into by a 2 men with guns , with my 2 sons home . I had to defend my family and did not hesitate one died and one gun man lived, but he will never be the same. I only fired 2 shots, my family is alive.

It is seriously being considered that schools should KEEP guns in them after the massacre? compounding the problem as far as I see it. Being from a country where guns are heavily restricted I find this idea horrible and would rather no one have a gun than everyone carry one for their 'safety'

I don't think it'd be easily to manage, fairly-trained, gunmen who are intending to kill. This isn't a low income district where thugs, often with illegal firearms, cannot access training infrastructure. Besides most would have very little incentives to be proficient with the firearm.

Those gunmen entering schools are usually practicing well before the event. You start introducing guns into schools, you're only going to start an arms race. No need to make more nut cases famous.

A thug who breaks into a house is going to hesitate to kill, because that's not his intention. A nut who initiates a school shooting is a very different animal.

This is coming from an individual who doesn't know any grand mother, great aunt, who wasn't armed. I could take that generations, because we were rather well-off. A thug, in contrast, usually has no such history and, like Afghan-officers, can barely use one. Those gunmen entering schools tend to belong to more affluent backgrounds.
