Beleive it or not, it took me 5 times to get a video to post up... so many interruptions. Ah well. Here we go, my answer to the video Proteanview put up on Multi-Billion Dollar Advertising & Personal Responsibility. There's a lot to say on this I think, but I only got a ten minute limit. Maybe I'll put up something along this topic later on.

  • Sometimes, I wonder if he's ever being rational, but I doubt it. It seems like he makes these videos that don't even have a focus. Well, can't blame him, he's not American.

  • @songwriter4artists Ah, the usual right wing stupidity. Of course I'm not American... even though I was born here, raised here, pay taxes here, and have a cultural outlook that was created here. Oh, and somehow, rationality is somehow linked to being American... as if other countries lack it?

Seriously, grow up and read a book. The only reason why you'd think there's a lack of rational is because you're too stupid to see it. It's apparent in the past several comments you've been leaving.

  • pfft, 50 bullets...you're hypothetically-toting the wrong gun. ;)

Sword: Steel grade? Price Range? I've got some eye candy swords, but no combat quality. I'm cautiously looking for a master-made katana. Suggestions?

    What martial arts?

    I'm a paper-certified philosopher.

You can run and hide from ads, but they'll get you somehow, through your compromises (internet), subliminally (vehicle makes), or limited options (order a beverage).

Good insight. No Tube. Evaluate everything.

  • Decided to answer you via PM, since I got so much to answer with (mostly on the whole sword thing0 that it would never all fit here in the comment section... stupid character limit....

  • you ugly ass shit!!! LOL you like a over grown monkey!!!!! nigga cut your hair.

    Faggot

  • also, I think you have the wrong channel. I only deal with semi intelligent people. You might want to look elsewhere for your kicks.

  • When people go to the military, what are they fighting for? They are fighting to increase the power of the government's control, rather than freedom. How do I know this? I know this because nobody is really free, despite the Article of Rights. Every citizen is only a number in the eyes of the government. As long as you pay your taxes, and keep voting on the people the government wants you to vote for, that's all that matters to the people of power. Your life -- they don't give a rat's ass about.

  • Listen, you dread-Lock Rasta Boy, here's a little wisdom for your radical, egotical irrational nonsense: The nature of government in any country is corrupt, one reason particularly is not that it separate from religion, it's because it is separated from God. The government's main objective is to gain wealth, power, and control people, rather than uphold the moral values of the constitution. The laws are only made as a "front," with the purpose of hiding the government's true intentions.

  • Yeah, i'm going to have to go to 160Gb soon. After that i'll never have to bother again. I knew my 30Gb would eventually fill with music I actually listen to.

So i'm looking out there and out of all the 160GB players, iPod classic is the cheapest.

  • yeah same here. There weremany cheaper options I could have picked instead of the ipod but I picked that one because its apparently the best lolz :P

  • When i bought my iPod, it was because i thought it was the most containing music player out there and that mini disks would eventually cost me more then what the iPod did.

But i never checked if there was another player out there of similar capacity without the use of diskettes.

  • WEll for me I really never owned a T.V. and would rather listen to music or study so if I wanted to watch a really good movie I would go hang out with a friend or relative but I felt that there was much more peace in my home without one but I really was insulted by people and told " What is wrong with you" you know but it still did not change my mind. I feel it can be a major distraction too.

  • I hate this character limit - I'm not one for brevity.

You're right when you say that advertisers know how to play off of human weakness. I actually saw this art exhibit once called "Friend Are You Impotent", all about the advertising in one of the Baltic states(Estonia if memory serves), and it really highlighted how corporations have forced themselves into our daily life and how they manage to get in there. It was a very interesting exhibit, I must say, and it really gets me to thinking...

  • The point I'm driving at is this - I do make that conscious effort to resist advertising. I take a stance of skepticism to all things I see and read. It's more mentally exhausting, but I feel it makes me smarter. I make my purchase decisions on the information from the best and least biased sources I can, acknowledging that no one is without bias.

But I can't get it perfect. I know that. The "cool" factor of many things is powerful.
