I thought the saints of the Old Testament, e.g., Abraham and Noah, when they died, did not go to Heaven, but to that part of Hell known as "Abraham's Bosom" described in Lk 16:22. It was there where Christ descended in order ot preach the Gospel to them (1 PT 3:19). Hebrews 11:39 attests that they did not receive the promise. When they died, they went to that part of Hell known as Abraham's Bosom, to wait for Christ to come and preach the Gospel to them.

It's ALL God. 100% God. The Father chose who is saved and gave us to Christ. Jesus declared that all that the Father gives me will come to me. he did not say that all people that ever lived, he said all that the father gives me. There's a difference. Calvinists understand this; Arminians don't. Salvation is of the Lord, let no man boast that it is "my own good decision" to come to Christ. None that the Father gives to Christ is ever lost. No one can snatch us out of his mighty hand.

@EWETUBER2 Nobody, that is intelligent, says or implies that God HAD TO shed blood to make coats of skins..... it is just a logical conclusion, to a reasonable person. Skin is either human or animal. Assuming it was animal [which is reasonable] and Jesus was the Lamb of God..... and men have used sheep skin and wool for thousands of years, for clothing - it is also reasonable that what God did in making "coats of skins" for Adam and Eve was prophetically instructional. DUH!

@EWETUBER2 "Faith OF" in Rom. 3:22; Gal. 2:16; Gal. 3:22; Phil 3:9 - is consistent in Douay-Rhiems [from the Vulgate] and the Geneva Bible. It is only changed to "faith IN" in the 103 translations since Westcott and Hort in 1880. You don't have to be a KJV hugger to see why it is better than all the rest! If the language [king's English] is too difficult to navigate with proper instruction, one has to be pretty stupid. It is a lame excuse. Even children have understood it for 399 years!

@EWETUBER2 Yes, Long before Calvinist Baptist of the Reformation era. Baptist can be a denominational term or as generic term meaning those who baptize professing believers only. These have been around since Jesus time - there was plenty of opportunity to baptize babies in the new Testament - but there is no record of this Judaized-Catholic practice in the bible.... not even amongst the Jews. There are records of Christians in England like this in the 1st century.
I feel you made several wrong assumptions about me. I am a Calvinist and I believe that God is the only reason I continue in the faith "for it is God who works in [me]"
The P is not focused on the perseverance of saints to the end, but the fact that ALL of them WILL. (in contrast, perseverance of some saints). There is no question that endurance is required (Mat 13:13, Col 1:23), but the source of the strength is from God alone.
Accusing a Calvinist of work's righteousness - that's a new one
