Bio
Raised in Olympia, Washington, Joy Osmanski developed an early passion for writing and art.
Following these loves, Osmanski pursued a degree in Creative Writing and Studio Art from Principia College in Illinois.
She then moved to Boston where she worked as the Art Director for a series of international magazines. A move to the San Francisco Bay Area resulted in the creation of her graphic design business, Open Door Design, and she worked with a wide array of clients both locally and long-distance.
However, after spending a year in the Bay Area doing theater it became clear that her focus should be entirely on acting so Joy pursued an MFA in Acting from the prestigious University of California, San Diego. A move to Los Angeles was imminent and worked out in her favor as she quickly started working in film and television. It was not long before she booked her first series regular "Darcy" on FOX's "The Loop." After two seasons, she went on to book more guest and recurring roles in such shows as "Samantha Who?," "Grey's Anatomy," "Chaos," "Men of a Certain Age" and most recently, "Better Off Ted," "NUMB3RS," "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia," and Jonah Hill's "Allen Gregory, and kid favorite "True Jackson, VP." Film work includes "Wedding Palace," and "White on Rice."
Theatre remains close to Joy's heart, however, and she treasures opportunities to work on stage. She has worked with Chalk Repertory Theatre, A Noise Within, Mark Taper P.L.A.Y," San José Repertory Theatre, Red Ladder Theatre Company, La Jolla Playhouse, the Yale Cabaret, and the Met Theatre.
