Yes, when a Cocoon is sniped or otherwise killed before it hatches, the resource cost is refunded. This is the same as killing Terran and Protoss buildings while they're training or researching something.

  • in your comments it says that the cost is refunded. Ya that doesn't happen. If you kill a building while it's researching/creating a unit, you lose those resources.

  • @TheTron56 do you not see the costs being refunded at the top of the screen? That was the whole point of this video

  • @TerrorBlack if the whole point of the video is to see the cost being refunded.. why is your title "Zerg Cocoon Snipe Test"? and not "cocoon destroyed refund test?

  • The refund effect was removed when they removed killing the egg refunding larva.

  • One storm. All gone

  • @TerrorBlack I was saying that because this clearly doesn't happen anymore. As it likely has been patched. Seeing as how this video is a year old this is probably from the beta.

  • @SilverPotatoXL

But what if the enemy s about to spawn an ultralisk or something useful?

On second thought, how can you know what he's gonna spawn?

  • very good to know a ghost can actually kill an egg in time

  • @Recon4121 because so many people make ultralisks the moment they get overrun by ghosts... NOT

  • @Recon4121 so true.
