  • Translation: Me Duplicate 1. Me know you. You want kill me (insult) (insult) (insult) Me idea. You not kill me. Me give you planet Duplicate 2 3 4 You want? (Player): Yes (He then repeats his previous speech, before responding to the player's answer) You great. (He then gives the player a set of coordinates, which turn out to be mostly lies. The last coordinate, that of Duplicate 5, is the planet you're already on. This is confusing, but turns out to be important later on)

  • That game is so extremely awesome! Created by two french guys, and title music from Jean-Michel Jarre, just epic.

  • @icosiel I dont get that too, its so strange that game ideas we're more unique... I guess this is bcus of game competition that they wont do any idea to game that wont sell.... so its money again.

  • Should be redone for iPad.

  • everytime I start a new game the coordinates which is fine but it gets when looking for any of the alien races including the duplicates 1 2 3

  • @MediaFilter I'll dissagree with the stopped trying, you see; budget increases have a lot to do with how little can be done as well as consumer expectation. consumers expect a game to employ the newest graphics because of the same reasons they expect a movie to look better than it's predecessors and that takes a huge chunk out of the budgeting, the average ST game cost only $500 to make and mass produce, the average ps3 game cost 5 million.

  • @MediaFilter I have hope, A deus ex sequal may not have the depth of somthing like this but it is a big leap in comparison to the compettion, I also really enjoyed the mass effect games because they reminded me of might and maagic in space.

  • @VisionofOrion Yeah, and I think that's one of the saddest effects. It's one thing for the quality of products in a given industry to drop, but it's quite another when that becomes so much the norm that consumer expectations drop as a result, so that there's basically no pressure on the industry to improve. And to be honest it's gone on like this for so long now that you can see how it happened -- a whole generation has come along who never knew that innovation was once the norm in game design.

  • @MediaFilter I think the playing field's expectations have dropped dramatically. Back then we used to play C64 and Atari games for hours. Developers had to do alot with very little and in the end had to stretch their imaginations to fill the void. Today its mostly slapped together graphics, I mean how many first person shooters can you play?

Captian Blood, Koronis rift, Little Computer people and Maniac Mansion were just a few.

  • @icosiel Agreed. Game designers have become too in tune with what everyone else is doing, instead of coming up with original new ideas. There is still so much to be done, but as of the mid-late 90's we seem to have just stopped trying.

  • I can't find one - nor a rom for the atari version of this game for that matter .
