lyrics below. I wrote this song recently after going to a certain movie with a friend and had some revelation in the theatre about the degree to which our culture has distorted the definition of love and relationship. Felt a bit sick to my stomach after the movie but got a song out of it...and a deepened passion for the city I live in (LA, Hollywood). Realized I live in the epicenter of much of the worlds influence and, sadly enough, destruction. No better place or time than now to write songs that can hopefully shift seemingly innocent cultural mindsets.
verse:
What was lost in translation?
The very facts of reason
Who we are and why we love
It's gone over our heads
It's gone over our heads
When we agree that freedom
Is stealing "love" away from
Anyone that we can find
It's gone over our heads
It's gone over our heads
chorus:
Like a scarlet thread
That found it's way into
The perfect and sacred
It weaves into our minds
Until its' knots are tied
And we forget our purpose
verse :
You say that you love
A bit too easily
Struggles come and then you run
Yet it's over our heads
It's over our heads
chorus:
Like a scarlet thread
That found its way into
The perfect and sacred
It weaves into our minds
Until its knots are tied
And we forget our purpose
bridge:
Foolish are we to think that love is what we've made it
Foolish how we've defiled this one burning moment
no offense taken. I was being facetious ;). everyone assumes I'm an alto because of my tone. thanks for the bravo!
