This video was shot by Mike Plant (FJR1300AE) of Grumbler riding his '01 VN1500N2L downhill on SH-21 south of Mores Creek Summit btw Lowman and Idaho City on the tight downhill twisties with, in order, 30mph, 20mph, 30mph, 25mph & 25mph road signs. This was during the Hamilton, MT to Boise, ID stretch of our Lolo Pass loop in early August of 2008. Check my blog at http://grumbleronwheels.blogspot.com (no spam).

  • It depends on where you're starting from when you reach Idaho. Once you reach Stanley at the jct of 21/75, the best twisties are btw Stanley and Challis on 75. However, 93 from Challis to Idaho Falls is a drone. 75 from Stanley to Ketchum offers side trip to Redfish Lake as well as the views from Galena Summit although not much in the way of twisties until the descent from Galena Summit towards Ketchum. Congestion issues in Ketchum and the towns south of there.

  • Actually, it's a *very* popular road for sportbikes. It's part of the "Lowman Loop" which consists of Boise to Banks via Payette River Scenic Byway, Banks to Lowman via Wildlife Canyon Scenic Byway, and Lowman to Boise via Ponderosa Pine Scenic Byway. The road runs btw Boise and Stanley, and paved all the way. If riding from Stanley to Idaho Falls then, yes, all the connecting roads are paved.

  • Thank you! I will be sure to include this in my plans when travelling to Yellowstone National Park. Is there any roads in the surrounding area that are do-not-miss. It is an area I am not too familiar with.

  • the pavement looks a little rough for sportbikes. Thanks for the video. Planning a road trip through this road in August. Is the whole road paved right through to Idaho Falls?

  • This biker featured in the video is an experienced rider with a little bit of nutty ingredient thrown in and also is good riding buddy of mine.

I had the pleasure of riding with Grumbler few times this summer. I look forword to do it again soon.

Too bad, Young Puppy is missing out all the fun!
