Poling and paddling my canoe up and down the river L'Oise in France.
Nice, not to be dependent of a car shuttle for the canoe. Poling is also great in shallow rivers.The Mad River Explorer in kevlar is the ideal poling canoe. It is light, wide and stable and its V shaped bottom helps a lot to keep the canoe aligned with the stream.
Make sure the canoe is trimmed heavy at the downstream end.
