  • thanks :-) I must mention that I heard lot of expensive HGs sounding really bad due to lack of proper setup - it took me months to find a perfect strings/cotton/rosin/technique/tuning for my HG and I'm happy with results - many people seems to not be aware that HG needs lots of time and patience and proper "rituals" :-) to not only be played right but also be responsive to what player wants :-) ...thanks for your comment, jralyea...

  • Var har du fått tag in en sådant fint instrument som denna vevlira? Och hur kan jag själv skaffa mig en? Tack på förhand/ Svensk Galt

  • otherwordly... and haunting. Great Job! I've just discovered the Hurdy Gurdy.. I want one sooo bad!

  • Good point, NoWotNik:

When Pearl (search the web for: Restif Pearl hurdy-gurdy), the famous hurdy-gurdy player of the Boulevard du Temple, plays a 'prelude' before entertaining her aristocratic listeners, she is no doubt putting her instrument into adjustment. By putting one part of the instrument into order, you may be throwing another part out -- seems to go with the territory.

  • After listening to all the new-fangled electro-acoustice h.g's. (which sound less and less like h.g's.), its food to hear an old fashioned instrument played well!
