This is a river, plenty of water; can you believe this is a Chinese character?

Lets keep the middle part, this is chuan1, originally, it means river.

Now we narrow the river, water must be flowing like this; this is a very useful Chinese character, shui3, means water.

I must tell you a startling discovery, the character of shui3 comes from the English word of water.
Look at me, I show you how the character of shui3 comes from water.
Ha-ha, of course, that is a funny joke to help you remember shui3.

Water, a very precious resource. If we do not save it, it will be less and less, flowing like this, a thin stream of water, this is water radical, three drop of water radical.

I Chinese, lots of Chinese characters contain water radical.
For example, liu2shui3, means running water.

This is water radical; this part comes from yun2, and means cloud.
Actually, rain water always comes from cloud.

The lower right part comes from chuan1; clouds become rain falling into river to be running water, liu2shui3.

Now I show you how to write rainwater- yu3shui3.
These four dots just like the drops of rain.

Did you ever drink well water?
In Chinese well water is jing3shui3, the shape of jing3 just like a well.
