@evilegg288 I mean that the cinematic form and imagery of the film comes from Kubrick, but it's true that some of the major concepts come from a couple of Clarke stories (mostly The Sentinel), and then the two used them as a basis to develop 2001 together.

@Chradnev Maybe, but most of the fundamental concept of 2001 were Clarke's doing. It was his short story that spawned the whole thing ("The Sentinel", I believe), after all.

@evilegg288 Kubrick has a lot more to do with the stuff being parodied here than Arthur C. Clarke. Clarke himself has indicated that.
