Part 1 -The Qatar National Theatre Projection Project for Qatar National Day 2011

Qatar Museums Authority (QMA) created a new communications platform in conjunction with the National Theatre to promote Qatari Arts and Culture by projecting multimedia content related to local events, exhibits, and celebrations onto the top exterior of the Theatre.

The new cultural surface was first used to celebrate National Day, and themed to match the day's festivities. QMA, National Theatre, and Museum staff members were photographed holding signs expressing their own thoughts about the meaning of National Day for them. Also featured were members of our QMA Facebook and Twitter social communities, who we asked to contribute their words as well. Projected in the center of the National Day celebrations along the Corniche, it was a fun and highly visible way to offer good wishes to Qatar.

The projection project will move to a Phase Two known as "barraq," which means "shine out" in Arabic. With nine themes—Art, Music, Dance, Theatre, Sports, Film, Photography, Education, and General—each with a specific colour to play on the other three surfaces, we hope to bring the colour, art, and culture from within Qatar out for all to see "shining" out like a beacon from the top of the National Theatre. Beginning in a few weeks, the project will be ongoing each night, and will have a related website so all can view more information online as well.

أنشأت "هيئة متاحف قطر" برنامج تواصل جديدا لتعزيز الفنون والثقافة القطرية بالتعاون مع المسرح الوطني, و ذلك من خلال عرض معلومات و صور حول المستجدات و المعارض و الاحتفالات المحلية على الجدران الخارجية للمسرح.
و قد تزامن هذا البرنامج الثقافي مع اليوم الوطني فاكتسى بالطابع الاحتفالي الخاص بهذا اليوم.
و تم التقاط صور لموظفي هيئة المتاحف و المسرح الوطني و المتاحف الأخرى و هم يحملون رسائل كتبوها بأنفسهم للتعبير عن أفكارهم لليوم الوطني. كما طلبت الهيئة من أحبائها و متابعيها على الفيسبوك وتويتر أن يعبروا عما يعني لهم اليوم الوطني، و قامت بنشر أفكارهم على جدار المسرح. و كان العرض وسيلة ممتعة وبارزة للغاية لتقديم التمنيات الطيبة لدولة قطر, وذلك من خلال بثه في قلب الاحتفالات باليوم الوطني في كورنيش الدوحة.
و سيمر البرنامج إلى المرحلة الثانية التي تمت تسميتها بمرحلة "البراق" أي بمعنى اللامع و المشع. و تتسم هذه المرحلة بتسع موضوعات: الفن والموسيقى والرقص والمسرح والرياضة والسينما و التصوير الفوتوغرافي والتعليم و المواضيع العامة. و يحظى كل موضوع بلون محدد يتم استعماله عند العرض على جدران المسرح الثلاث. و الغرض من ذلك خلق انسجام بين الألوان و الفن والثقافة في قطر لكي يراها الجميع "براقة" و مشعة كمنارة على الجزء العلوي من المسرح الوطني.
وسينطلق هذا العرض بعد بضع أسابيع و يستمر في كل ليلة من السنة. و يكون مصحوبا بموقع الكتروني لمتابعة كل الأخبار.
