Millions of EU citizens do not have access to a basic bank account, a form of financial exclusion which increases their risk of social exclusion and poverty. Prevention and elimination of over-indebtedness and financial exclusion are major elements in the fight against social exclusion and poverty.

If anybody reads these , ever !!!
I want to protest strongly against the British business policy in housing and the associations of every street and their lawyers. The whole policy sucks in many areas but just a sample ... When an EU citizen is looking for a flat to rent in UK , They DEMAND from EU citizens to make money transfers and don't accept cash or bank account checques.
They also demand a certain money transfer firm.

well, I am sorry to disagree with you VVendettaz.
Plenty of people have trouble opening a bank account in the UK, because of pseudo money laundering laws.
I don't look like an international gangster. Things seem a bit easier now than it was 6 years ago(i was check, my bank account in France(i am French)was checked, loads of proofs of address and tough when you just arrived in the country.
The UK has a real problem and I am surprised that there are no more than 2millions without a bank account.

I have acc in UK and banking there is real pain I have to admit. They should something about it - liberalize market, provide more services, get more IT stuff etc.

circa 0.56 The MicroFinance Centre, so much paper work! I think all EU videos should have a policy of not making it look like they are buried in paper work! Bureacracy is a necessary evil but lets not show its ugly side!

What they really means is get a bank account and become part of the system. They will use the fear of stigma/exclusion to force people in to signing up to the system
However in the UK any foreigner can open up a bank account and gain credit cards within immeditaely because no background checks are made.
The 2 million people they mention who dont have accounts are indigenous brits who are checkable, have histories etc But they are deemed non credit worthy.
