SA80 = more bad ass.
Ak47 has power and is cheap.
M4 etc has accuracy, and is hard to mess with.
SA80 is powerful and accurate, with a bulpup design. Moderate difficulty to mess with. But overall better, simply because Britain uses it.

visually it is similar yes, but internally not so much.

concerning the STG44 vs Kalashnikov design debate:
if you actually own either of these assault rifles and disassemble them together you will see that the similarities are not any closer than any other two assault rifles. both use gas piston blowback (so does EVERY selective fire rifle) and similar trigger assemblies but otherwise you are looking at two different designs. the AK47 followed the experimental AK46 which is more similar to the experimental Bulkin AB46 than any other predecessors.
