PS3 folding fan speed is low.

I started folding about 7pm on the 7/22/09, the fan speed goes from 2 to 3 every 20-30min, I shot this video just show how loud the ps3 gets when folding. The mic on my camera is very sensitive, so it makes the ps3 sound a lot louder than it really is. I recently I moved the PS3 inside the entertainment center, also placed two 92mm 12volt fans at the back of the cabinet. Both fans are running at 3/4 speed, which produces about 40cfm for ea fan, thus any hot air is quickly removed . This was cheap and easy. Now I have installed a thermostat control, so when the temp increases in the cabinet the fans will switch on.

@paranormalpizza This is just the folding @ home...which is a core function of PS3...basically a progrsm thst lets the PS3 help out with solving complex proteins for DNA...

@mrbobdog707 sometimes it was very loud. but i left my ps3 right next to a fan for like 20 minutes, then i turn it off and i played for an hour, and then i turned it off. i also moved it from where it was to the top of a table. i dunno if it got fixed

@XxPLAY3RxON3xX remember there are 7 speeds..normal would be 2-3 during game play,playing DVD with up scaling, if it's louder than that then the machine is having trouble cooling it's self down

@mrbobdog707 is the 80gb version bought new in 2008. i have never open it. i use it horizontally, i think is very ventilated, and the first time that it happened to me, i just turn it off then i turn it on again, and it worked just fine. the next day, i could only get to the xmb menu.. sometimes it takes longer to turn off like a minute. and i think i could get to see a yellow light, but I'm not sure cause it changes too fast.

@XxPLAY3RxON3xX how old is your PS3?which model due you own(60gb,80gb..etc)..due keep it well ventilated?have you ever had it serviced,opened it cleaned all of dust and replaced the thermal paste?Blinking red light usually means over heating...or it could be power supply issues..did you see any yellow flashing light or just red?
