Do you like Carreras version more than Del Monaco one? only listening oit in your living room, because if you were in an opera house, for sure you did not have the same opinion, Del Monaco's voice had much more power and beauty than Carreras voice, impossible compare both singers. DelMonaco can be compared with Caruso, Corelli, Masini, and Carreras can be compared with Aragall, Prevedi, Domingo...

actually, as much as I enjoy Monaco, I also like Carreras's rendition a little more. Especially his 1979 or 80 recording. Don't know why, just do.

@sugarbist I'm spanish, but I never thought my english was so so bad...? You have misunderstood my answer to IlgruppoDiDocci, who said that this performance was the best AFTER CARRERAS, what I think that is like saying WORST than Carreras...and obviously I was triying to be sarcastic when I compared Domingo to Corelli. To be true, I can´t believe that anybody compares those to these. Del Monaco and Corelli were from another world. Carreras and, specially, Domingo, overrated singers.

@danipj73 It's wonderful that you think that Carreras&Domingo are better than Del Monaco&Corelli.However Corelli&Del Monaco have have more signature roles than Domingo&Carreras. Most noteably Aida Pagliacci Chenier Tosca Otello Forza Ernani Norma Carmen Trovatore Poliuto Manon Fanciulla Don Carlo Turandot Cavalleria.Where as Domingo&Carreras were not really suited for these operas.They also didn't have the depth of voice that MDM or FC had.You can enjoy them but lets keepthings in perspective

@calinmiron Fanateanu does sing this aria pretty well,I listened to several other arias and it seems that CF has a significant wobble in the high notes although the voice is pretty interesting
