The muscle up is the fundamental skill that enables you to get on top of anything you can grab and hang from. Whether you are climbing up a wall from a hang, pulling up to a support position on top of a scaffolding bar, or performing a basic pop vault over a tall wall, the ability to do a muscle up will greatly improve the speed and fluidity of which you overcome the obstacle.

  • Hey I was wondering and I really really want to know this. do you guys that make these videos and workouts ever lift weights? Like do you do only bodyweight workouts only? Because I have people that tell me that I can't get strong off of only doing bodyweight workouts but I have no way to pay for monthly gym or buy dumbbells at this time. Please repsond!!

  • @FRJae you can get very strong in your upper body without weights doing the stuff on my channel. getting strong legs without weights is quite a bit harder, but still possible if you do it right. in my opinion, parkour people should do 4 exercises with weights. deadlift, squat, pull up, and dip. mix that with the right bodyweight exercises and parkour and you have a very complete program there.

  • isn't kipping up cheating? It's easier, but can you do it w/o emphasizing the usage of your legs to get you up?

  • @jrk987 In parkour you never isolate the upper body, you use everything you have to get up as quickly as possible. This is why you should practice kipping in addition to dead hang pull ups/muscle ups.

  • I can do a muscle up from a cat hang on a wall, but can't seem to get it on a bar, any tips?

  • @FRJae I personally never touch weights. For further reference, talk to gymnasts. They are extremely strong and coordinated people that don't touch weights

  • What do I do to build up to that because I cant even to that? I am trying to clime up a wall from a cat leap but can't I have whacked all of the videos on how to but now I need the conditioning.

  • @FRJae ehm yes you do get strong enough of bodyweight

  • hey i was wondering, is it possible to do a muscle up that fluently without kipping yourself up with your abdominal?

  • @EvilLamas Thank you for the reply people like you that tells me great and inspiring things keep me going :)

you sir made my heart smile. :DD

  • @FRJae look at olypmic ring gymnasts. They are phononomly strong, and are also amazing at allot of parkour stuff, such as the vaults flips- and muscle ups- you wont see a better muscle up than one done by a profesional gymnast. They use no weights. It's all done on the rings, a bar, or the floor.

  • I was just wondering what muscle-ups are and found this video. It answered my question and caused me to listen to blue scholars for the 10th time today. That is in no way a bad thing

  • @FRJae yes
